Effective Monday March 23, 2020 Chiefswood Park, a sub-department of the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation (SNGRDC) provided the Six Nations Emergency Control Group (ECG) unencumbered access to our newly constructed Chiefswood Park Cabins as part of their inventory for emergency use for Covid-19.
All 15 cabins will be available to house our Emergency Service Providers who may have been exposed to Covid-19 and are required to self-isolate. It is important to note that the cabins were provided to the ECG prior to any positive confirmation of Covid-19 within Six Nations and are intended to serve as a precautionary measure for those who need a safe space to self-isolate to further protect the community and their families.
As part of the occupancy arrangement, the ECG accepted responsibility for the following:
– Providing linens, towels, and toiletries
– Any cleaning, garbage removal or housekeeping requirements
– Signing a waiver accepting liability for the use and occupancy of the cabins, including any damages that may occur
As a community owned development corporation, the Six Nations of the Grand River Development Corporation feels it is our responsibility to provide and assist the Emergency Control Group, and the entire Six Nations community in any way possible during this uncertain time.
At this time, Chiefswood Park will remain closed until April 6, 2020, with the SNGRDC Management team assessing the situation daily.
